Pastel Landscapes
I have been blessed with the ability to write creatively like many
at an early age. So naturally I have a collection of lyrics that
has spanned a few years, that I can fondly look back upon.
It shows me how I've improved in writing, as well as looking back upon the influences of other writers of song of my youth which in turn led me to finally come into my own style of writing through experience.
Being creative is highly important to me- I believe that if I couldn't express myself through art, music or writing then my whole being would probably be in a state of perpetual silk cut frustration and misery.
To express oneself allows one to breathe, reflect, be in tune with oneself and the world around us. To have whatever feelings we own to be captured in written form. In essence writing is very much akin to creating a Dear Diary.
It's a biography. Memoirs.
It is portions and aspects of your life, how you feel and think being revealed.

Universal Sigh
I tend to gravitate towards music that has Edge and Bite including
lyrically and vocally. I tend to shy away from the
Pastel.....
...mindless love songs that I cannot relate to or indeed feel at ease with - probably because I'm relieved that I am no longer a teenager.....and all the angst that goes with that....
Bless that Ship and all who sails in her....
I also feel that with writing lyrics there is a curious window of opportunity that comes with this gift.
For instance I feel that any author has the ability to tap into a Consciousness outside of him/herself and glimpse into the realm of prophecy. Some things that have been written can come into being.
Nothing is impossible but possible.
So then, we are Vessels that are quite unique in some ways that can tap into something more than the Creative Ocean.

The God Who Wasn't There
A lot of my music tends to have a religious bent.... Perhaps I
should clarify. Because the era that we live in is heavily
influenced by Christianity and this in turn has created a
backlash.... my music is partially in response to The Damage
Christianity has input into society on every level. Therefore not
only by Christian definiton am I anti Christian, but I am also an
Anti Christ in my own right.
Quite a lot of the lyrics I have written is centered around The Goddess and what She means to me. But intellectually one has to perceive that any Deity is basically a human construct. So what we tap into when we call upon Goddess is something outside of Human Comprehension. So, literature surrounding any God is basically the equivalent of Tolkein.
But the problem here is that although there is Divinity - the portion of this Something Other is the very thing that possesses each and every one of us to varying degrees.
So we call It by many labels.
Man made religions and systems with their so-called holy books - perpetuating the mistake that by writing about a Spiritual Entity means that: It can be Owned. Compartmentalised. And Conveniently Boxed.

Spiritual Orgasms
So even though my lyrics have a bent towards religion and
spirituality, I also like to write about the abstract and
emotional: the dark, dank and sticky. I have also been inspired
when reading Science Fiction/Fantasy. Frank Herbert springs
instantly to mind. What a genius.
"Disintegrate" a song taken from the album "Through A Glass Darkly" was partially inspired by his Bene Gesserit Order and a Bowie-esque but bleak Space Odessy venture. Alternatively- childrens stories have also inspired me- such as Chicken Licken- which became expressed as the song "Perfect"- from the album "Windows Of The Soul".
We are creatures of duality: Dark and Light. So when we express ourselves we're communicating more than just the Pastel but everything that is conscious and subconscious. In essence we are expressing and revealing our true nature - at least those who are brave to do so.
And it can be a Journey.
So with that in mind- please enjoy reading the lyrics from the albums.
Enjoy The Journey.
